10 Ways to Care for your Owl

1. Provide a spacious aviary: Give them plenty of space to fly, exercise, and dive bomb you from above.

2. Balanced diet: Feed them according to their very specific needs…  or they’ll start hunting you.

3. Regular vet check-ups: Make sure to have your Owl’s health forms A, B, and C properly completed by a veterinarian specialized in their care or by the lowest bidder.

4. Maintain clean environment: Regularly clean their aviary to prevent build-up of plastic ducks and crumpled up ticket ideas.

5. Proper temperature control: Keep them in the shade or air conditioning at all times, to protect them from uncomfortable weather, direct sunlight, and Texas heat.

6. Mental stimulation: Use toys, games, and puzzles to keep them mentally engaged, or interrupt their sudoku at your own peril.

7.Socialization: Spend time with them to build trust, but leave them alone when they chomp your finger.

8.Safe handling: Attempt to touch at your own risk, but if you must approach, use gloves and be gentle.

9.Observer behavior: Take note of their interactions and overall demeanor.

10. Follow local laws: Your owls may be a protected species. Make sure to consult the Guide to Safe Scouting for Owl regulations. Owls require specialized care, thorough research, and consulting with a professional, such as Brian Keenan (Owl Troop Guide).
